Maura Smith Stein

Sea Blue Company (“SBC”) is a full -service vocational and youth mediation company located on Cape Cod. Sea Blue specializes in serving youth and their families with exceptional vocational and conflict resolution services. We are passionate about juvenile and disability justice. The most impactful service SBC does is to deliver great individualized customer service to youth. Our primary goal at SBC is to successfully place ALL youth on a strategic career path by providing CIES services, Competitive Integrated Employment Services. In other words, a paid job they are passionate about! With exceptional vocational and transitional services we help young adults and students by creating an ICP, (Individual Career Plan). The ICP model first helps youth identify their career goals and then provides a strategic plan to achieve their goals. With these customized vocational services we are able to meet ALL youth were they are at and help them to discover what they care about.

I am a driven, fair and creative person dedicated to serving the community. My passion for vocational services, career coaching, disability services, social justice and serving vulnerable individuals is inherently part of all my work. I pursue best practice by continuing to learn and fine tune my skills. My objective is to continue this work to the best of my abilities for all individuals in need of service. I believe in a holistic business model of sustainability. My respect for the Ocean is incorporated into these purposes.

Maura works as a Success Coach at Cape Cod Community College and was the past Director of Vocational Services at the Latham Centers for special need individuals as well as the Vocational Coordinator at Riverview School which also serves the special needs community. Maura currently provides consultation services to several schools including Riverview School. Additionally, Maura worked at the Department of Mental Health as the Cape and Islands Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.Maura is the Youth Coordinator and a Volunteer small claims Mediator at Cape Mediation.

At all the positions mentioned above vocational placements and opportunities had a significant increase for all the individuals Maura served.

Latham Centers: 65% increase of CIES job placements for Latham Centers adult special need population.

Department of Mental Health Cape and Islands: 45% increase for DMH clients on Cape Cod at CIES jobs.

Riverview School: 50% more business partnerships developed and placed for ICP students that included both internships and CIES job placements.

Sea Blue Company: 100% vocational service success rate to date.

Maura has received extensive training in mediation from the Cornell ILR School, Mediation Services of North Central Massachusetts, and Cape Mediation.She is ceritifed to Mediate in the state of Massachusetts. Additionally, she completed her Restorative Justice training through Suffolk University’s Professional Restorative Justice Practice Program, where she was certified as both a Restorative Justice Practitioner and Circle Keeper. Maura is highly qualified to train schools, community members, and students in Restorative Justice Practices, Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
